2. ACTION ITEMS with Funding
Urban Rancho, a Sustainable Garden Party at Lummis Home - $300 community outreach (Community Project: Education)
Six hour program of garden-related presentations on varied topics, such as beekeeping, sustainable vegetable gardening, rainwater harvesting, garden strategies for birds, raising chickens, and beneficial bugs. Admission is free with requested donation to benefit Lummis Home grounds via the Historical Society of Southern California, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Held at the Lummis Home. Funds will be used for photocopies, banners, signs, refreshments, speakers. [Katharine Parra]

The purpose of the ASNC [is to]: 1) Provide a forum for discussion and review of ASNC issues and projects; 2) Engage stakeholders in deliberation and collaboration on matters affecting the community; 3) Promote participation in City governance and decision making processes, and to promote greater awareness and utilization of city services available to (ASNC) stakeholders; 4) Work with other neighborhood councils, communities and organizations on issues of common interest; 5) Advocate ASNC issues to government and private agencies, where there is widespread community agreement; 6) Inform and educate community stakeholders and residents of forthcoming projects, events, and resources available.
The public is requested to fill out a "Speaker Card" to address the Board on any item of the agenda prior to the Board taking action on an item. Comments from the public on Agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the Agenda that is within the Board's subject matter jurisdiction will be heard during the Public Comment period. Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker, unless waived or adjusted in the interest of fairness, by the presiding officer of the Board.
The agenda is posted for public review at Mount Washington Elementary School Bulletin Board, Ramona Hall, supermarket at Avenue 45 and Figueroa Street, Montecito Heights Recreation Center, adult day healthcare center at Avenue 60 and Monterey Road, as well as the ASNC's official Website at www.ASNC.us, and distributed via the ASNCalert Yahoo Group (opt-in E-mail listserv).
