Rescheduled election of a Local Issues chairperson for 2010-11
(nominations/self-nominations open to any registered ASNC stakeholder from the
Hermon community).

Hermon
Business Spotlight: Introduction of
the new owners of “The Pantry” café and
coffee house at 5526 Monterey Road, at Redfield Avenue (formerly Cycleway
Coffee).
IV.
Comments or
reports from, and questions for City representatives.
V.
Public comments
and announcements regarding non-agenda items, or requests for future agenda
items -- within the scope of committee’s ability to address (2 mins. each).

Updates on past Local
Issues and other community requests and actions, as available.
Discussion and possible action on the following agenda
items:
VII.
Update and request for community support from Bethesda Christian Univ. (BCU)
for a 4-to-1 native tree replacement plan (for 38 Black Walnuts being removed
due to construction at 625 Coleman), including Coast Live Oaks, Calif. Sycamores,
etc. (BSS Work Req. 205632) – Logos Design/ BCU
VIII.
Request for the
ASNC to again provide funding (up to $1,600) to help cover expenses for the
annual community "Harvest Festival," October 31 -- Hermon Church representative(s)
IX.
Request for the
ASNC to purchase, at a total cost of $180, three banners to help promote
participation in Hermon’s monthly community clean-ups -- Hermon “Clean Team”
X.
Should the Hermon community host a councilmember candidate forum for the
CD 14 primary election in March 2011 (possibly as part of Local Issues regular
2011 meeting on Jan. 13)?

ASNC’s purpose [is to]: 1) Provide a forum for
discussion and review of ASNC issues and projects; 2) Engage stakeholders in
deliberation and collaboration on matters affecting the community; 3) Promote
participation in City governance and decision making processes, and to promote
greater awareness and utilization of city services available to (ASNC)
stakeholders; 4) Work with other neighborhood councils, communities and
organizations on issues of common interest; 5) Advocate ASNC issues to
government and private agencies, where there is widespread community agreement;
6) Inform and educate community stakeholders and residents of forthcoming
projects, events, and resources available to them
