I.
Opening remarks and brief explanation of ASNC and Local Issues mandates.
II.
Previously postponed election of a Local Issues chairperson for 2010-11
(nominations/self-nominations open to any registered ASNC stakeholder from the
Hermon community).
III.
Public comments/announcements regarding non-agenda items, requests for
future agenda items (within the scope of committee’s ability to address), and
greetings/ announcements from representatives of local elected officials or
City departments (2 mins. each).
IV.
Hermon Business Spotlight: Presentation of plans for the vacant supermarket
building at Monterey Plaza by the owner of “Fresco
Community Market” (scheduled to open there October 1, 2010) – Jon Murga
V.
Updates on past Local Issues and other community requests and actions, if
known, including details of a remaining unfilled ASNC Board seat
which Hermon stakeholders can apply to fill and any information available on alternate parking
solutions for Monterey Road (from Council District 14 – Arturo Gonzalez).
VI.
Continued open discussions as to which Hermon community projects could
possibly be funded by the neighborhood council funds during fiscal year
2010-11, started July 1.

The purpose of the ASNC [is to]: 1) Provide a forum for discussion and review of ASNC issues
and projects; 2) Engage stakeholders in deliberation and collaboration on
matters affecting the community; 3) Promote participation in City governance
and decision making processes, and to promote greater awareness and utilization
of city services available to (ASNC) stakeholders; 4) Work with other
neighborhood councils, communities and organizations on issues of common
interest; 5) Advocate ASNC issues to government and private agencies, where
there is widespread community agreement; 6) Inform and educate community
stakeholders and residents of forthcoming projects, events, and resources
available to them.
