| Note: There is no proposed action item that I am aware of regarding the 210 Freeway Extension proposed at this time. If an item or resolution is to be proposed I remind everyone of Joe Riser's well taken reminder that opposing voices need to be heard. |
TWO ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Tina Zabala and I shall be resigning our offices as ASNC Secretary and President, effective as of the meeting August 24th.
Tina has informed me that she will be leaving Los Angeles: " I want you to know that this coming meeting will be my last. I'm getting let go from my job … (s)o I'm moving to Virginia to join my U.S. Navy son and daughter-in-law who are expecting their first baby. Going cross-country driving. I'm scared and excited at the same time. What an adventure this would be! Wish I could stay. L.A. has been my home since 1978. I'm gonna miss y'all.
"You will have to elect a new secretary. I will finish up the minutes for this coming meeting and will get together with the new secretary to pass equipment and advice to.
"Also, I'd like to recommend Anthony Guida, a Montecito Heights resident, who is active with the community, to take my place. He is the co-chair of our Local Issues Committee and he has expressed an interest in the ASNC the last time I spoke to him about 2 weeks ago. I will confirm on Thursday when I see him at our Local Issues meeting but I'm sure he's definitely interested."
I personally wish Tina well, bon voyage and thank her for her hard work and support.
I shall resign as ASNC President, effective as of the Aug 24th meeting. - though I shall continue as Mount Washington Representative.
I find that my other commitments, as an member of advisory and governance committees at the school district, as an member of the board of the California State PTA and a couple of non-profits focused on issues of children's education and welfare, and my commitment to running the health & vision clinics and the dental referral service of the LAUSD/PTA Health Program compromise my ability to give the ASNC presidency the attention it warrants and deserves.
I look forward to continued work with our new president and with you all as a board member representing the Mount Washington community.
Thank you and ¡Onward/Hasta adelante!
