710 Freeway Issue

Here for your consideration is some bacground on an issue we'll hear about at the next ASNC Board Meeting, the 710 Freeway extention that would pass thru Northeast LA.

Hi Paula,

As always, it was great talking to you and I appreciate your hard work for our neighborhood, especially your offer to put the I-710 Freeway extension issue on the agenda of the ASNC. I can't emphasize enough how important his issue is, especially since none of our elected officials has taken a position to that yet! And if they continue this way, we'll be in deep trouble.

I've enclosed several files- the history of the I-710 as well as the projected routes and some illustrations what our neighborhood would look like when the freeway becomes reality. Unfortunately, the way I read the events of the past 2 years, it seems more likely than ever and it is very important to get the word out and to form a vocal and influential opposition- foremost the media and elected officials (Reyes, Garcetti, Huizar etc.)

From this site I can recommend the meeting minutes (under materials & minutes) - you'll see that LA has not been represented.

On Wednesday, I'll bring the issue to the attention of the GPIA and see what they know about the problem

I'll be out of town until early June- Let's regroup when I am back.

I have in mind to prepare a little powerpoint presentation on what the 710 extension means to us. I'll also tackle the gray water issue then by going to the health department and talk to them personally.
