City Planning Early Notification Report
(Car Wall in Hermon)

As you can see from the first page of this (most probably already received it), the Old Car Wall in Hermon that the ASNC agreed to fund a consultant for is finally on the books at City Hall and starting on it way to a hearing as a "Historic Cultural Monument" of the City.

A couple of us will be going to the commission meeting at City Hall Thurs. a.m. to try and get the Cultural Heritage Commission to consider putting it through for nomination, etc. Oddly enough, we're on the agenda right after the Griffith Park HCM application that is on (our) ASNC agenda for next Monday.

If accepted and restored, the wall would be one of only two "Folk Art" HCMs still standing in L.A. The other is some little-known item called the "Watts Tower".

NOTIFICATION OF NEW ENTITLEMENT APPLICATIONS – EARLY NOTIFICATION REPORT

To: Certified Neighborhood Council Board Members

From: Iris Fagar-Awakuni, Neighborhood Council Liaison

Subject: Planning Department Early Notification Report

Attached is the Planning Department’s bi-weekly Early Notification Report for Certified Neighborhood Councils. The purpose of this report is to provide Neighborhood Councils with the earliest possible information about all applications for planning entitlements that have been filed in your neighborhood, even though not all applications are complete and some cases may eventually be withdrawn. Included in the report is contact information about the applicant so your Neighborhood Council can obtain more information about the project very early in the process. You will see that the report is provided in PDF and Excel formats.

The information in the report is sorted by Neighborhood Council. If your Neighborhood Council is not listed, no new applications for planning entitlements were filed in your area during the past two weeks.

We have expanded the scope of our Early Notification Report and are now sending it to ALL Certified Neighborhood Council board members for whom the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) has an e-mail address. The Planning Department will continue to use the DONE database for these reports, as it provides us with the most accurate and up-to-date information and allows us to make sure that all board members can have access to this information. We strongly suggest that your Neighborhood Council keep your DONE Project Coordinator informed about any changes so that you continue to receive our notifications. Furthermore, if any of your board members spam-protect their e-mail accounts, please ask them to open their e-mail addresses to receive e-mails from the City.

The Planning Department requires that an official notice be sent by U.S. mail to the appropriate Certified Neighborhood Council for each public hearing on a case. In order to ensure that your Certified Neighborhood Council receives a mailed notice, please make sure that your Neighborhood Council provides DONE with the one contact name and address that should receive the Planning Department official notices.
