ASNC Seeks Candidates for Sycamore Grove Representative

Due to the recent resignation of one of two elected Sycamore Grove geographic representatives, the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council (ASNC) is inviting stakeholders to apply for the vacant position on the elected board.

Applicants are encouraged to submit a statement of 100 words or less, which will be distributed via email and on the ASNC website.

You will also be invited to make a 2 minute statement at a future regularly scheduled board meeting -- held the fourth Monday of every month. The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be held:

March 24th 2008 - 7:00 pm

Jack and Denny Smith Multi-purpose Room
Mount Washington Elementary School
3981 San Rafael Avenue, LA CA 90065.

Appointment of the winning candidate would take effect immediately following a vote of approval by the current board of reppresentatives. The appointed Sycamore Grove representative will then hold the position until January '09.

ASNC Bylaws define stakeholders as: "individuals who live, work, own property, or are parents of guardians of students attending school within the ASNC boundaries, together with the sole designated representatives of businesses or organizations that operate or own property within the ASNC boundaries."

In addition, geographic representatives "must be registered in the community they represent."

Please send your statement (and any inquiries) to Ernie Sanchez, ASNC Interim President, at eesanchez@sbcglobal .net
