Dear Treasurers,
Attached you will find the new Demand Warrant (DW) form to be used for
all Paper Check Requests for the new fiscal year. Please remember that
Demand Warrants should only be used for expenditures over $1,000 or when
your US Bank card and petty cash cannot be used to cover an invoice:
Starting next week, the new DW form will also be available on our
website at lacityneighborhoods .com in the funding section under forms.
The document will be available both as a pdf and word document for data
entry.
Please remember that if an expenditure/ project are not itemized in your
budget, board approval will be needed to process the DW. General budget
categories such as outreach, advertisement, operation
expenses, equipment and community beautification project
are too general to function as an official expenditure approval.
Itemized budget categories such as election, board meeting
advertisement in local papers, office desktop and mural
restoration project are more acceptable for an approval. The purpose
for this is to ensure that all expenditures are voted on and approved in
public and to allow board members and stakeholders to comment on
significant expenditures and projects.
Thanks for all you efforts in the past fiscal year and for all your
suggestions on this new DW form.
