Debs Park Trouble Spots

Hello Mr. Llanos,

To follow up the Neighborhood Watch meeting on June 13th (which also serves as the ASNC Public Safety Committee monthly meeting), I've pulled this map from the Debs Framework Plan and marked some spots in red with explanations below. I've sent this map out to several others who attended the meeting in case they may have more information to add. If you have any problem opening the attached PDF document, let me know and I will send it to you in an alternate format.

We hope this gives you helpful inside information about the park. I'm certain that everyone at the meeting is interested in assisting the General Services officers with law enforcement in Debs Park.

I appreciate your attendance and attention to the community members' concerns.

1 - The "rabbit patch" area, where the fence is routinely broken. For many years, this has been the entry point for inappropriate adult activities further up the hill.

2 - Deadend of Evadale Drive, entry point for vehicles to drive into the park when the gate has been forced open. Everything has been OK there recently.

3 - Area of breached fencing allowing motorbikes into the park.

4 - Area of breached fencing allowing motorbikes into the park.

5 - No longer an official entrance, people have entered the park here through a driveway on Montecito Drive. Jack Fenn reports the homeowner has closed this access. Jack has requested that Janice Galvan of Rec & Parks install barrier poles to discourage motorcycles from entering.

6 - New access point at the corner of Reynolds & Roberta and location of the open gate discussed at the Neighborhood Watch meeting.

7 - Weekend access point for paintballers.

8 - Homeless encampment

9 - No longer used as an access point.
