Per suggestion from D.O.N.E., the ASNC should update and add the list of its official posting locations for agendas to the Board's Standing Rules - Eliot Sekuler, Rules & Elections

Request that the Board instruct the Webmaster to close and remove the “Forum” area associated with the ASNC site (see http://www.asnc.us/bboard/phpBB2/), which has not been used for two years, and which requires some regular maintenance to clear spam postings. Requested by Board member Joseph Riser.

Lummis Day Recap – Eliot Sekuler

  a. Summary report on June 3 event, attendance, and community support
  b. Presentation of preliminary budget for 3rd annual Lummis Day program and request for financial commitment from ASNC 2007-08 fiscal year funds, in the amount of $4,000 (to cover educational programs, production, printing and advertising expenses)
11. The ASNC should withdraw from membership in the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Congress (LANCC), a private organization not affiliated with or recognized by the city. LANCC's charter has been deemed by the City Attorney as not being within the scope of the mission of city certified NCs. See opinion letter, portion attached. (Note: Some 40 of the 90 city NCs have joined this organization and ASNC has sent a non-board member as its liaison for two years.) Requested by Joseph Riser.
12. The ASNC should form an ad hoc committee to assess the status of Lummis Home and work with Council District 1, the Department of Recreation and Parks, and other city and non-governmental agencies to assist in its rehabilitation and preservation. Requested by Board member Eliot Sekuler.
13.

Request from Ida Simms and Sara Lopez for $5000 for Support for the Monterey Hills Jazz Festival

14.

From Mount Washington Local Issues (Requested by Jerry Schneider), the ASNC should:

  a. Discuss and prepare a resolution calling for improved funding for public transportation and forward it to the Congress of Neighborhood Councils for support.
  b. Request that the City study and present options for improving pedestrian safety for crossing San Rafael Avenue in the vicinity of Sea View Drive, including a marked crosswalk at this location.
  c. Request that the City study and present options for improving the drainage at the intersection of San Rafael Avenue and Glenalbyn Drive.

Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the Agenda that is within the Board's subject matter jurisdiction will be heard during the Public Comment period. Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker, unless waived by the presiding officer of the Board.
