Job Description
Administrative Assistant
This is a part-time position. The actual hours will vary from month-to-month depending upon the need, but it is expected this job will require 6-15 hours per month. The work will principally involve information distribution and organizational skills and the person must have their own transportation. Additionally, the Administrative Assistantmust have a computer, which must have broadband internet access. Enrollment with AppleOne (the payroll agency) is required. The Administrative Assistant will report and work directly with the ASNC President. Hours are flexible, but most tasks must be executed within 24 hours.
The ASNC Administrative Assistant is responsible for the following tasks:
Post meeting agendas and announcements prior to ASNC meetings at the locations specified in the ASNC bylaws (7 physical locations).
Ensure the printing of agendas and supporting documents for distribution at ASNC meetings.
Coordinate mass mailings of annual stakeholder/candidate information (2 mailings to approx. 14,000 households), plus 4 quarterly ‘newsletter' postcards to approx. 1000 addresses and other distribution to local businesses and recruitment of volunteers for these.
Provide liaison with the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) as directed by the ASNC President.
Willingness to coordinate information and distribution of material via telephone
Occasional evening meeting attendance may be required
Occasional travel to DONE offices in downtown or Lincoln Heights may be required. |
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Qualifications:
Car or transportation needed in order to post agendas and notices at prescribed locations.
Web and email access
Good communication skills;
Knowledge of Neighborhood Council system and the ASNC website;
Good organizational skills;
Flexible; |
