A new MOU for Neighborhood Councils

Good morning and Happy New Year Planning Taskforce!

Well, it's a new year, a new Planning Pilot Program starting and time for a new team at the top.  Elections will be planned for February to put in place the Planning Program Oversight Committee.  Much like the DWP MOU Oversight Committee, this group will be tasked with making sure that the NCs and the Planning Department continue to work together to implement all of the directives of the Pilot Program.  Those who wish to offer their names to serve on this committee should think carefully as it takes a lot of work and time to keep everyone informed and keep things moving.  The current thrust is to have all of you NCs inform Planning of your first and alternate representative' s telephone and e-mail contact information.  Secondly, the Taskforce needs the name and mailing address, plus e-mail and phone, for the first and alternate representative (if any) to receive the copy of new case filings to be sent out by the Planning Department.

If any of this is news to you, please read the attached document.   If you have not sent in the contact information or have not agendized for your NC to select your contact representatives, please do so now.  If you do not, you are left out of the program.  For those many of you who have already done this, our thanks.

REMINDER! The next meeting of the Taskforce is Saturday, January 13, 2007 , at the DWP building.  Coffee at 9:30 am, meeting at 10.  Agenda will go out about January 10th.  This will be an important meeting as the Pilot Program starts and first nominations for the election are entertained.

Once you have elected the Oversight Committee, the Formation Committee will step down, probably at the March meeting.
